      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Bullhorn (London, England) in Nov 2012

      Interview

Applied on-line through the company website was contacted by email directly by HR and asked to undertake a 2 hour online "TestFirst Hiring" survey Was told this was the standard first step, but reading the other reviews it appears this is not the case. It really does take two hours and covers seven areas: personality, intelligence, math, vocabulary, mental acuity, business acumen and mechanical aptitude. I was told the reason for the assessment was primarily to measure a candidates personality fit for 'career planning' . In reality the psychological profiling within the test is only a minor part and it is primarily an out an out technical ability test. The questions are mainly verbal and mathematical reasoning setout in a Scholastic Aptitude Test style - In the UK we don't ever undertake tests like these so I struggled. Asked for a copy of my results.. was told No.

      Interview

So disappointed to receive a generic email asking me to complete a 50+ question behavioral assessment. Not worth the time or effort. This company clearly doesn't understand the biases associated with these assessments. I highly doubt they're committed to D&I because this wouldn't be used. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that most of the applicants are white from upper middle class backgrounds.

Thank you for taking the time out to share this your feedback on our hiring process at Bullhorn. We appreciate your feedback on the assessments you took, which include a Cognitive Aptitude and Personality Test. These are used as one of several data points throughout the process to make a hiring decision, along with our interview process. The cognitive test provides an unbiased, objective result, which we believe further enhances our commitment to ensuring a fair and equitable hiring process. While these tests have been thoroughly validated as accurate and valid predictors of job success, we will continue to regularly review their use to ensure alignment to our hiring process and our ability to attract qualified talent with diverse backgrounds and experience. Thank you again for your interest in Bullhorn.

      Interview

There were a lot of weird questions and ones that seemed pointless. Some of them were a bit personal and there were numbers. Squares and circles. Some time and questions you choose. More words and then lots there were two parts. Nine more and its okay now until the end.
