      Recruiter Interview

      20 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Collabera in May 2021

      Interview

Very bizarre process. Lots of bait and switch. I specifically mentioned what I wanted and they told me they had a position and that the manager from the company I would be supporting wanted to interview me. It was scheduled for the following week. Everything seemed great and I prepped for the interview. Then on Monday I got a call stating I received an offer for another team. No pre-screen, call, or interview. It was a verbal offer. I was asked if I wanted to accept the position. I stated I needed more info. What team was this for, what/who/when/where, etc...all the important info you would need to know in order to make a decision. I was given the most basic JD and a one pager about Collaberas benefits. I told the recruiter that I wanted go still interview for the role we had originally talked about which they had to set up again. The interview wasn't even 20 min and I was given a description for a different position then I was told I was going to interview for. When I brought this up, the recruiter I was working with was very surprised then confirmed about a couple of hours later that it was a different position. OH, and by the way, in passing during this call I was told I received an offer from the interview I had that morning. All was happening so fast and of course they asked if I was accepting. I explained, again, I needed everything jn writing. I was emailed the JDs for both positions (same except for different teams) and the one pager about benefits. In order to get my offer, I would need to offer my SSN, DOB, address and etc... which is incredibly bizarre. Never once in my professional career have I had to provide that info just to get an offer letter to review and make my decision. Only after to initiate background check and the rest of the onboarding process. The guy that happened to hop on to help explain the difference was the most condescending person who kept in interrupting and urging me to take the first offer. Soooo many red flags. No written offers, crappy communication, pressure, bait and switch tactics, fishy process , and so on and so forth. I have plenty more to share about this experience but overall it left a very bad taste in my mouth. Based on this and seeing the previous reviews, what's to say the overall experience is 10x worse after one is hired. No, thank you. Make sure you do your research and know when to recognize the red flags and bait switch tactics. Know your worth.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Ha...the only and main questions I received was if you got a full time role, would you take it from another company or are you fine with this being a contract. The other question as about if I had experience recruiting for higher level positions.
