After n rounds of interview, the HR asks for salary expectations only to say that we need another interview. The interview goes well with a leadership level person ending with "look forward working with you". Next day, I get a mail - we would not go ahead with this. On calling, get a reply that we could find you suitable for this. Wonder it took them multiple rounds to discover this when the HR had once asked for the salary part too.
Feel the n+1th round was meant to give a reason to cancel.
