I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dollar General (Forest City, NC) in May 2012
Interview
I went to apply for a job at Dollar General yesterday thinking that I would fill out an application and then be interviewed. I was told by the mananger that I had to take a test that consisted of 60 questions. I don't understand what these questions had to do with being qualified for the job. I guess my opinions did not match the opinions of the person who wrote the questions. I did not meet the standards. Whatever happened to looking at someones work history and checking references. After checking other reviews and talking with DG employess, maybe it was a good thing that I didn't meet the standards. Minimum wage, working long hours, holidays, and never getting a pat on the back can be depressing. I use to enjoy shopping at DG, but I think now that my store of choice will be Wal-Mart or the Family Dollar Store.

Everything went smoothly and all of my questions were answered perfectly they were extremely nice and very understanding that at that time I could not come in on some days due to doctors appointments or days I would be running a little behind due to the doctor appointments running over the scheduled time
