I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at El Camino College (Torrance, CA) in Oct 2017
Interview
During the review process they set up a classroom full of multiple administrators and current instructors, they had me set up an education plan for the day and walk them through a typical class session. for half an hour i had to speak about a topic and answer any questions that were asked. Some of the instructors took the roles of students asking annoying questions or behaving poorly while others behaved well and asked questions to test my understanding. Overall it was a nightmare, the whiteboard markers didnt work, the projectors didnt work, i had no way of troubleshooting or accessing their equipment and they intentionally push your buttons to see if you will buckle under pressure. Qualifications aside, you need to be able to handle absolutely anything that comes your way and tackle any and all questions with confidence and knowledge.
