The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group
Interview
I received a call from a regional recruiter, after filling out a questionnaire sent via email. I went to the in person interview and met with two individuals regarding the Agent position with Farmers. It felt as if THEY were trying to sell me on the job. As if I was completely sold on the idea. I had no insurance background and was graduating with an Economics degree and an internship in Finance. I was then told the wonders of insurance and was asked who I had in mind I could sell insurance products. I fiend interest until I left. When the district Manager proposed a loan instead of a draw I nearly walked out. I stated I would forgo a loan and he asked "Why don't you want it? It's FREE MONEY!" I stated a loan is not free and he reiterated if I met quota I did not have to pay it back so basically you are living off borrowed time in the first year or so banking on your ability to network friends and family to take sub par policies. I decided not return their phone calls. Which didn't stop for 6 months.
Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.
The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
Detailed with multiple calls. Explained in detail the onboarding and training processes including the financial obligations with starting an agency. There was a personality test to help determine fit with the company.
