Recruiter reached out and described the job details and asked usual HR questions. Interview process was easy. Firstly, had hiring manager round then coding as part of pre-screening. Pre-screening coding was LC easy question and was around string decoding. For virtual onsite, I could not qualify the 90 minute peer programming round. In this round you are expected to write SQL connector. There was some existing code and you need to implement missing piece of logic. The mistake I committed was to understand their code first. One advise, don't waste time in understanding their code rather start by solving the required logic and then look just for what you want in existing code base. The interviewer was friendly and helpful.

One of the worst interviews I have ever had! PLEASE do not interview here! The quality of their engineers is TERRIBLE It was a typical interview process until I got to the technical phone screen 1. HR intro call 2. Interview with a Hiring Manager (so far so good) 3. Technical Phone screen The interviewer did not even care to introduce himself or ask anything about me. He took his sweet time to select a question from the Hackerrank platform and presented it to me. I went ahead and gave him a solution that passed ALL the test cases on the FIRST go. This interviewer tested me on Java SDK-specific functionality. He asked me, what is the function in java that will give you a positive value regardless of the sign of the number.. WHO would test the candidate on a language-specific functionality? Inspite of solving the problem and solving it in a couple more different ways, I got a reject. It's showing the interviewer's incompetence more than mine. I asked HR for feedback on what went wrong and what I could improve on. Haven't heard back from them so far!

Great interview process and very fast on their end. The recruiter and all interviewers were very friendly and the questions were appropriate to the field. I highly recommend Fivetran, because the culture is great, the people are super-friendly and easy-going, and the commute doesn't require Bart (HQ in downtown Oakland). Furthermore, Fivetran is hiring in the middle of the Corona crisis, which is a strong sign.
