      Senior Accounting Position Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Forcepoint (Austin, TX) in Aug 2019

      Interview

I applied online. A recruiter contacted me through email; then I did video interview. I am very confident for my accounting knowledge; but I scare some people who are yelling, screaming, etc. at office. In August 2019, I did on-site interview at the Austin office. Everything seems fine. I thought it's a great opportunity for me to move my career to another step. For a long term, I might work for the company on other fields (such as auditing, financial analysis) that I have professional certifications. The recruiter in Austin office informed me that the department director would like to hire me. A few days later, the recruiter sent me email to request my immigration documents. I explain that I hold TN status (visa), which I explain to them when I received his first email. I can process the change of employer with US Customs once the company issued a letter (a kind of offer letter). It took over one month. The company decided to ‘move to another direction’, because processing TN costs the company, as well as takes too long. As I understand, the HR in California, made the decision. Because TN is completely new for her and the team in Austin. They ‘haven’t been educated’ on this. I explain them that I already have TN for my current employer. There are lots of information available online about TN. As long as the company issues a letter to me, it doesn’t cost any penny for the company. Unfortunately, whatever I explained, they still ‘move to another direction’.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Good thing: I don't remember whether they asked me 'Did you...' or 'Have you done...'. Usually HR team likes to ask such questions. I really dislike these kinds of questions. Actually, as accountants, we face different new issues. The most important (at least for me), how to solve them? how quick you can learn?
