I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Forma.ai (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2019
Interview
Applied through University of Toronto's co-op program (PEY) in 2018. Got an email with a take-home SQL project that took me around 1-2 hours to complete; it was quite easy but it had lots of errors. Then went to the "office" (CEO's house, a residential address) twice to meet with some of the people, because the first time the CEO couldn't make it on time. In the end, they ghosted me; no replies to my email, no returning my phone calls, etc. Bad experience if you look up on UofT's website; will not recommend.

Question 1
SQL, no real technical but more about going through what you did.
Thanks for taking the time to reflect on this. I'm new to the Forma AI team and leading the talent function. Sounds like we didn't do a good job of demonstrating the care and attention you showed us through the interview process. I'm sorry this was your experience.
Other Software Engineer(Internship) interview reviews for Forma.ai
Take home challenge that takes a few hours, technical interview (flatten a dictionary, 15 mins to implement), chat about background with engineering manager. Overall it was on ok experience, however during the technical interview there was little to no communication when I was implementing my solution and the interviewer just watched in silence. I received an offer in November, and it was rescinded in the first week of April. I would definitely be careful with this company, does not seem like they have great management / work culture and they left me with little to no time to find a Summer internship.
First is a take home test - they tell you it will take 2-3 hours but it took me about 4-5 hours to make it perfect. Proceeded to the final round after take home test. No mention of the take home test - no feedback, no further discussion. They make you show your best personal project with demo + code, but the seinior developer kept silent the entire time while a current intern at the company asked me questions. Then the last 15 minitues of the inverview they give you a coding question - the senior developer who was interviewing seemed as if he didn't care about the interview, sat slient while I was trying to come up with a solution. The question itself wasn't too hard but it was really hard to come up with a solution given they only give you like 10 miniutes. Overall, I think the entire interview process was unfair as there was not enough time to deeply talk about my personl project as well as to solve the coding question.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Forma.ai (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2020
Interview
Initially I had an in person interview with one of the managers at Forma. I was given a coding task and asked to submit it within a few days of the first interview. After submitting the coding task, Forma got back to me and offered to give me a tour of their office as well as a chance for a second interview. During the second interview I had the chance to talk to three other managers at Forma. The questions were behavioural for the most part, and the interviewers seem very knowledgeable and professional. I received an offer over the phone a few weeks later.
