Exhausting and Disrespectful Interview Process
The whole process felt unnecessarily long(a month), disorganized, and frankly disrespectful of the candidate’s time and effort.
1. Screening Test (2 Hours)
A long Hackerrank test that included a ReactJS machine coding question and a DSA problem. Fair enough for initial screening, but this was just the beginning of a never-ending process.
2. Technical Interview (1 Hour)
Focused on JavaScript, ReactJS/NextJS, and a few design pattern questions. Reasonable and expected at this stage.
3. Aptitude & Reasoning Round (2 Hours)
This round felt like a complete waste of time. After spending 5 years in the industry, having worked on real-world projects, being asked to prove my aptitude and English skills felt both redundant and demotivating. It’s frustrating to see companies not value experience and practical skills.
4. HR Round
Standard culture fit questions — nothing new. But what followed was even more frustrating.
5. Assignment
I was told the next step was a full-day, in-office F2F round (for which even calendar invites were sent), but suddenly I was asked to complete an assignment first. This wasn’t a simple task — it was a full-blown project, easily 12–15 hours of work, and I was given just 2 working weekdays to complete it. Doing this after working hours was draining and incredibly unfair.
6. Assignment Discussion (30–40 Minutes)
Instead of the promised F2F round, I was scheduled for an online discussion of the assignment.
7. Radio Silence and Closure
After this, I followed up for 1–2 weeks with no proper updates. Finally, I was told the position has been closed. No feedback, no explanation — just like that, after multiple rounds and a whole month of my time invested.
