I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2011
Interview
I just had 1 interview with the HR. Didn't get past that. She asked about my GPA both in undergrad and grad schools. Other questions:
1. Why Google?
2. Why this role?
3. About the previous role.
She said it was a very competitive position so it was important to highlight relevant "analysis" experience as much as possible. I couldn't get past this stage because it wasn't possible for me to join asap as they wanted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
She wanted details of GPA and courses I had undertaken in my undergrad school. Wasn't difficult but unexpected.
Candidates submit applications, undergo screening calls, attend one or more in-person or virtual interviews with hiring managers and team members, complete assessments if required, then receive hiring decisions and job offers.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Nov 2025
Interview
Google's hiring assessment process typically includes a resume screening, a recruiter call, and a series of virtual interviews with a combination of technical (coding, system design) and behavioral (Googleyness and Leadership) rounds. An initial online assessment may be used for some roles or levels, and while technical roles focus heavily on coding and problem-solving, all positions are evaluated on problem-solving, cognitive ability, and cultural fit. The final stage involves 3-5 interviews, usually lasting 45 minutes each, conducted on shared documents or whiteboards.
