After submitting my application in person, I went into the store three days after for a follow up and the manager told me that if they needed me, I would get a call by the end of the week. A couple hours later I was called and scheduled an interview for the next day. The manager who interviewed me was very nice and laid back and asked some form of the following: -Why do you want to work at Hallmark? -What do you know about our company? -What does customer service mean to you? -Describe a time that you used creativity to solve a problem. -What is your biggest achievement? -A time when you've had to work in a team to solve a problem. And several more along those lines. They'll also ask about previous retail experience if you have any. After the interview, you're given a fill-in-the-bubble "integrity test" which consists of 180 -yes, 180- yes/no questions. It's just common sense but it's a bit of a drag to fill out. I handed the manager my test and she told me that I would hear back in a couple days. I got a phone call about an hour later and was hired :)
