    Interview

CV and application online. One of the worst organisations to apply to, firstly the deadline for this was in May, and they stated clearly that within four weeks we would have an outcome on our application. Fast-forward to now end of July, literally two months later to get an outcome. Their HR team liked to milk the Covid-19 response, but it does not take two months to get through applications if you are realistic, it is just another excuse from a terrible organisation. Especially, since they had no common decency to email applicants regarding an update, I had to email them to understand if the job was still going ahead!

Terrible people hired in the HR department, and an awful reflection of HoC, highly unprofessional.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at House of Commons (London, England) in February 2019.

    Interview

Applied online. Got a call asking why I wanted the job, and then a few days later got invited to an interview. Interviewed by the Caseworker and Parliamentary Assistant, then had to write a piece about an issue MPs have faced or will face in the future (basically to test writing skills, the content didn't matter). Whole interview process was over in 25 minutes.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at House of Commons (London, England) in October 2018.

    Interview

Quite informal - cover letter and CV followed by two stages of interviews. This varies a lot across offices. What they're usually trying to suss out is whether you're likely to quit straight away, whether you can write coherently, and whether you've got a genuine interest in understanding how parliament works.
