Received an inquiry regarding my potential interest in a job posting. Multiple phone calls: all very friendly, open, and transparent. Got the impression the company has a great culture and technologies/capabilities.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at IBM (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2022
Interview
I reached out to hiring managers and recruiters directly via LinkedIn for a target list of companies I wanted to be part of.
Besides personal referrals, this method worked amazingly as it shows you can do the job in sales (prospect, hunt, close).
I had 6 interviews - hiring manager, recruiter, two peers I would work with in different function areas, a higher up, and lastly the leader of the group.
It was based on relationships and based on the territory, have you sold in that group before, know names of individuals in an account.
Also they do customer references and they talked with two of my customers I had sold to in the past.
