Basically you fill out an online form. The questions usually focus on what your interests are, what your skills are with programs like excel, or if you had any prior experience. your schedule is also taken into account as they cannot ask you to change your academic schedule for the job.

I applied online and received a call for a telephonic round of interview where I was asked to describe my previous job, education and some other details. Answered general questions about what was on resume.

Sitting in front of a Webcam explaining to the director of graduate studies why he should offer to have the school pay me $8050 pet semester.
The director was generally laid back and easy to speak with. This was the least stressful portion of the experience.
