Recruiter reached out three times with meandering statements but was overly supportive. This was the first red flag.
While I was ready for a tough interview since this is a cold-calling role and an objection-handling scenario may have theoretically popped up, the recruiter assured me the interview with the hiring managers would be pretty straightforward.
It was anything but. They didn't test my cold-calling skills, but they snickered and were rude throughout the interview. They also couldn't help but understand how I may need to work a side gig. More on that later.
I followed up with the usually very responsive recruiter next day, and she never responded. It's been almost two weeks. Complete waste of valuable time.
Avoid this company. Base pay is $42.5K CAD for this role and is non-negotiable. They also tell you to be ready to work after-hours and to not have any other work commitments. Not sure how anyone could agree to this, given the paltry pay.
Also, their "sales academy" starts on a fixed date, so you may be waiting a while before you can actually get onboarded and working.
