      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at LaSalle Network (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2017

      Interview

Well, I applied for an internal company position but when I arrived for my interview I was actually just asked questions about the types of temp positions I was interested in. I'm not sure they even planned on interviewing me for the position I actually applied for, which is somewhat discouraging. I also met with two different interviewers who asked me the same questions (to get a new angle on me?), and was told I would need to fill out a paper application, even though I submitted a comprehensive application with work experience online when I applied for the internal company position. I was told to bring a current resume and list of professional references with me as well, which I left with the girls at the front desk when I arrived. It seems there were a number of redundant steps.

Thanks for your feedback. We are currently in the process or streamlining our paperwork and making it all available online because of similar feedback to yours that we've received. Unfortunately, all of the information you submitted online is not our comprehensive application, so there is additional paperwork to complete when you come in for an interview. As for the position, I'm sorry you felt the recruiters you met should have discussed the position and your experience in relation to it in more depth. Our approach is to discuss your interests, skills and experience, and once we have a more thorough understanding, to talk about any opportunities we currently have open that might align with what you are looking to do. Our focus is less position and application specific and more to be a resource for you in your job search as a career consultant. I apologize if this was not explained during the interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LaSalle Network (Niles, IL) in Aug 2016

      Interview

DO NOT INTERVIEW FOR THIS POSITION! It is a scam. I saw other interview reviews on here for the same position and they all said the same thing, however I still gave LaSalle Network the benefit of the doubt since the girl I talked to on the phone was very nice and told me it was in fact for this position .... BUT they do have a "team-based approach", which I mistakenly assumed meant that they would keep my resume open to the rest of the company for additional positions. I was aware this was a recruiting firm and I had my doubts. But when I got in for my interview (which was Downton Chicago, no parking - which meant I would spend over $30 for a spot in a garage) I was just handed papers to fill out that was asking simple basic info that I could of either done online beforehand or they could of easily pulled from my resume. Then a girl took me into a room and started asking me questions that were obviously directed at having me be a client for them and not actually the applicant process for the job I applied for and the sole reason I was there. She at one point offered me a part-time job at a call center for a random company. After she finished I kept asking her when I would interview for the job I applied for? She kept brushing it off saying she knows nothing about that position and the next interviewer would talk to me about it. I was sent back to the waiting room with a new stack of papers this one asking me for a full release of my background and my social security number. Embarrassed at this point that I had been fooled into signing up for their service I was pretty upset. Also, the atmosphere of this office is super unprofessional. No one is in business clothes just jeans and flip flops, and there's balloons EVERYWHERE. The area that they send "potential hires" to fill out there endless paper work and wait for their next interviewer is covered in balloons. You have to constantly kick them out of your way to get through and find a balloon covered seat, I wasn't sure if I was a potential hire or starting elementary school. I was then told my next interviewer was in a meeting and would be a while. I could sense my parking fee getting higher and at their advice I just left. NEVER go in for a job interview here unless you want to be fooled into looking like an idiot and misled constantly

I am very sorry you had a bad experience. Let me begin with the parking...We are located in the loop to allow our candidates to (hopefully) conveniently and affordably commute to our office. Many other companies and staffing firms also do not reimburse for parking. In terms of the balloons, the week you interviewed we were celebrating our 18th year in business. Our staff and candidates get a kick out of them and it adds to the celebratory atmosphere. I'm sorry if you felt it was unprofessional. Most importantly, I'm sorry you had a bad experience here. We have a training program for all of our new hires and ongoing training for tenured staff, however, sometimes the knowledge of new people isn't always at the level we believe it should be. I wish that weren't the case, but no one is perfect.
