My interviews seemed to go really well, and they led me to expect to receive an offer from them within a week. The recruiter ignored me when I asked for feedback after the (surprising) rejection, but after I pressed, she insultingly implied that they weren't currently in a position to hire junior engineers. When I pointed out that I'm far past that point in my career, and that I hadn't applied for a junior position to begin with, she ignored me yet again.
Assuming she was being honest, and that she wasn't mixing up my file with somebody else's (which is hardly a given with these types), I'm not sure why they even bothered to waste my time and interview me. What's particularly amusing is that, well... let's just say that I'm not exactly known as being a second-string practitioner of my trade, or for having an abrasive personality.
I think I might have dodged a bullet, here.
