    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Norwich, England).

    Interview

After going through the online assessment process, I was able to book an interview for the next week.
I went to the information desk and was greeted by an assistant manager who chatted and took me to the interview room. I was told about the role play activity, and was given about 5 pages of food to look at for the role play. The assessor left the room for 5 minutes, and when she re-entered it began. She asked for a product which was out of stock, and it was my duty to go through any options of phoning other stores, or suggesting alternatives. The role play goes on for about 10 minutes and the assessor is just looking for your customer service skills, and your ability to persuade and sell products. (My advice for this is to just go for it and be confident even if you're not - because realistically if you don't get the job you're never going to see this person again.)
After this, the assessor left the room to write up her notes, and when she returned she was with the manager. She then asked questions which I have listed below, in a very friendly and nice manner. The interview was very relaxed, and both people made me feel comfortable.
I was offered the job there and then, and was left to discuss uniform and shift pattern with the assistant manager.
I have my induction in a couple of weeks!

Face to face interview in a meeting room with a director. Lasted about an hour at the head office. Was relatively informal and conversational and for the most part it was not too stressful.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Welwyn Garden City, England).

    Interview

    Very good process
It, first of all, started with a role play where you are given 5 minutes to read the scenario and make notes. The manager comes into the room and starts the role play and you have to fulfill their needs while demonstrating good customer service. If you are successful, you'll be invited to the next round where they ask questions relating to their values and your experience.

    Customer Service Representative Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Bexhill, England) in March 2018.

    Interview

application, online test, interview with a roleplay, result. Really nice manager and the interviewer as well. The best part of the whole application process is that you get an immediate feedback, I got a feedback that I passed the interview stage, but they need to see other candidates first as they might fit the role better, I was told to expect a call in 3 days and 3 days later I got the call telling that I got accepted. Try to think of examples when you were innovative, inspirational.... and at the roleplay be yourself and try to look at the bigger picture of the customer wants, make sure you solve their problem and do not start laughing it is a roleplay, but you get marked based on it.

    Bank Teller Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Milton Keynes, England

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Milton Keynes, England) in March 2018.

    Interview

The hiring procedure was rather long but I understand that’s because it’s a bank and they have to do all sorts of background checks. I first received a phone call from HSBC (m&s bank hires through them) with some questions about myself and my availability, after that the following day I had a proper telephone interview which I passed and was sent onto the next stage around a week and a half later I had my face to face interview, the manager was lovely and so was the girl that was assisting her they told me I would hear back the following Friday. On the Friday I wasn’t contacted so the next Monday I called them for an update, I was told I would hear back the next Friday. I didn’t hear from them again until today. My interview was in March and two months later in May I received an email telling me I had been unsuccessful when I was informed it would be via the telephone even if I was unsuccessful so that I could ask them any questions I had about why I didn’t get the job
