Submitted my application online in December 2016. Received a call from the Director of Clinical Operations and scheduled an interview for January 2016. Comfortable environment and questions were geared towards a New Grad RN.
After interview, I was informed that the hospital does contract with Long Beach State & Cal State Long Beach. From what I understand, Long Beach Memorial awards scholarships to multiple nursing students who declare ED nursing as their specialty. In return, the students enter into the New Grad ER RN program and work for the hospital for 2 years after graduating and passing the NCLEX. Therefore, as an outside New Grad RN, it is extremely hard to get into the program unless you are one of those Long Beach State/Cal State Long Beach students or you have a STRONG connection to the hospital (relatives, etc).
