The interview process had multiple stages and included multiple individuals, including a recruiter, an area manager, and some supervisors who could ask comprehensive questions and analyze my response.
This position is new to the industry and still contains a great deal of grey area and a wide array of responsibilities. As such, I was asked questions about example issues I might have to diagnose and repair and how I would handle those instances. Each interviewer asked example questions and then they gauged my responses. I could quickly tell they were looking for indications that I am willing to research and ask for outside opinions on new problems for things I may have never encountered. They also seemed to be attempting to assess my level of automotive technical background.
When the interview was completed they let me know they would be discussing my responses and I'd hear back within one day and asked if there was anything else I'd like to include, to which I simply gave a quick afterword summarizing why I believe I'm a good fit for the role.
I was thanked for my time and did hear back within a day, as promised. They also gave me feedback on my interview, which made me feel valued and like I was being taken seriously.
