Had a few screenings with a talent contact. This went super well; she was friendly and explained the role and informally discussed the company culture. She passed me over to the recruiter for the role for another interview.
I scheduled a phone interview with him. The second he picked up the phone and began talking I knew it was already over— he spoke in the most deflated, careless tone and seemed completely over the interview two seconds in. He asked a few questions and chatted briefly; there was a point where I finally got him to warm up on a topic— this lasted a solid minute before he was back to one-word answers. Our call was extremely brief (under 20min) for what was supposed to be a second round interview. We hung up and I followed up via email thanking him later that week.
It has been over a month and I have not received a response from him nor have a received a formal rejection.
I have no problem with not receiving an offer; however, for a firm of this size and reputation it is unprofessional to engage with incoming talent like this.
