    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Next Retail (Essex, MD (US)) in April 2018.

    Interview

Applied online which was very easy to do and allows you to apply for multiple roles quickly, Got an email to confirm I had been short listed and then got a phone call. Missed it but then called back and had a 10 minute conversation. Asked why I thought i’d suit the role, what I could offer, what I’d previously done for work experience, no more than 5 questions. I was then asked for my availability and if I had any holidays booked so it was all very easy. They usually tell you then if they want you to come into the store for a trial run and meet the manager and get to know the store followed by an induction.

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Next Retail.

    Interview

Was called randomly for a phone interview, which lasted for about 5mins. Was asked about something that I was passionate about, was described a scenario (the position was during their sales period, so the questions were sales related) and had to answer how I would deal in that scenario. Was told I was successful and invited for an assessment the following week.

The assessment was very easy, was split into two groups (there were 7 other candidates), we just spent some time organising/tidying a section of the store (making sure there were cubes on the hangers, hangers were facing the right way, clothes were in size order etc.), was told straight away that everyone got the job. This was for their sales period, so I'm pretty sure they were just happy people turned up for the interview.

    Interview Questions

    • Q. Name something you are passionate about

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Next Retail (Leicester, England).

    Interview

There was myself and four other candidates invited to the assessment day. We started off by individual interviews where a set of maths questions were asking involving spread sheets. Then we were asked to rank different clothing items according to their popularity and whether or not they are a high fashion item or a basic. After individuals interviews we did a group tasks which involved picking a selection of mens T-shirts out of a line up, which we believed would be the best options to put in store. We each got an individual task that we needed to complete.

    Customer Assistant Interview

    Anonymous Employee in London, England
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Next Retail (London, England) in June 2018.

    Interview

It was really quite informal. When I arrived, I was first taken to the back room and waited there a bit as I did arrive early. I was then asked a few questions about what I was doing at the moment and what my availability is like. I was asked to go onto the shop floor and talk to customers asking them if they required any help (many of the staff members told me before that I should really demonstrate this). NEXT really value customer service so you need to show that you can do this. I did this for an hour and was taught how to search for items in stock on the till. After this, I was taken into the backroom again and asked about my availability where I found out I was being offered a position.
