      I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at OwnLocal (Austin, TX) in Dec 2016

      Interview

      I was applying from out of state. As part of the application I had to do a project. Then there was a phone screen with the hiring manager to make sure I was human, followed by a video chat team interview. After that, I flew to Austin on my own dime for a "Culture Fit," which is three hours of interviews with people from all over the company. I got a call by close of business letting me know the results that day!

      I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at OwnLocal in May 2016

      Interview

      From what I can tell, OwnLocal has a 5 step interview process. 1. The initial application that gauges your personality and willingness to think critically about questions and details of the application. 2. You receive a project with certain guidelines you must fulfill in an effort to see how quickly you can adapt to their technology. 3. A phone interview. 4. A team fit interview. 5. A company fit interview. I made it to stage 3. I was not interviewed by the person I was initially supposed to be interviewed by and the person interviewing me hadn't even looked over my resume. I had to give a summary of myself to someone unfamiliar with any of the documents I had already provided. Everyone was very polite and professional throughout the process, but if I could do it again, I would have waited to speak to my originally scheduled interviewer. They make you work and challenge you to get an interview. Though the pay is far below the industry standard especially in a large city, I would still apply again for the culture and passion OwnLocal seems to inspire in its employees.

      I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OwnLocal (Austin, TX) in May 2016

      Interview

      An incredibly intensive interview process, but overall a great experience. They began by sending me a fun project that challenged my creativity. I made a How To video that I didn't feel was very strong, but I think it was mostly to identify if I was serious about applying or not. Then I had two quick phone screenings, a team interview, and a "culture fit". The culture fit was really cool, I got to meet with a variety of people from all of the teams in the company, and they had some fun and interesting questions for me.
