I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at PlayStation (London, England) in Feb 2022

      Interview

After 5 months of interviews I had absolutely no idea what the company wanted to hire me to actually do. Each interview was very impersonal, they would not ask me anything about myself or past experience. They were not interested in any work I had done before, they did not even ask me once about what I had previously achieved. Despite this I passed each interview ( 5) but waited for a month each time to find out if I would go to the next round. The final interview I had with upper management was the same, no interest in who I was or what I had done, in fact they did not even seem to have questions organised. Management were very uninterested and very rude. I had to finally ask them what it is I would be actually developing (after 5 months) if I joined to which they did not really have an answer. I believe they didn't even really know what they were hiring me for. I then waited another month and had to chase the HR to give me an answer and find out that I had apparently asked for too much money (45% more than what they wanted to pay) and they had accepted someone for what was a joke of a salary (68k) that I would not even consider as it would not be enough to live on in London. The HR also turned overnight from being very interested and polite to being very rude and dismissive. Overall this was one of the most unorganised and disappointing interview processes I have ever experienced. It seems they think because so many people dream of working for them that they can pay them half the salary or similar roles in London and that they can make people wait half a year to find out if they got the job or not. Thanks for wasting so much of my and other peoples time Playstation! The interviews were not challenging at all and more for a junior level first job role, rather than a senior level role. It was surprising how unchallenging this was for me.

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PlayStation (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

In this order: - Phone with recruiter to set expectations. - Phone with hiring manager, mostly behavioral and past experience questions. - Asked to deliver a technical assignment ( 6 - 8 hours of work) within a week: here where the process went south, after delivering the assignment on time on github, I got no response for over a week (and I can see no one checked out the code on github from the insights page!) - Finally got an answer with an invite to onsite interview. - Onsite was 4 part interview mostly technical discussions, nothing tricky. It's been three weeks and no answer, I understand that you might have other candidates but standard rejection email will not take much time. I can also tell that the assignment that took me 6 hours to finish wasn't even looked at. Don't waste your time here, unless you really need it. My conclusion is that this company moves very slow and in an unpredictable manner, can't really rely on the process to move forward as expected.
