The initial interview was with the recruiter. She was wonderful and very responsive. 30-minute conversation over the phone. I was asked to come in for an interview the next day. I was shown the company surroundings and then let into an interview room with a big glass window (emphasis on big glass window, I'll refer back to this)and waited for the two interviewers who were late. The first guy that came in, {name} seemed like he was bothered to be there. Both were dressed like they were ready to go to a baseball game (I was told that it was business casual there by the recruiter) The second guy came late and left early. They did most of the talking??? They asked me a little about myself , told them what I was doing in my present position. They told me about the verticals that Podium does. The one guy, cannot remember his name didn't smile once and when I asked when they were looking to fulfill the position (at the end of the interview) he didn't understand what I said, so I said, "when are you looking to have the person hired", he smugly said that he was doing both jobs since January and that they didn't need to hire immediately but only when they found the right person and that he could continue doing the position. Hmmm, ok. This same interviewer kept looking behind me as I was trying to answer a question. Remember i said big glass window... people must have been walking behind me because he kept winking and looking "cutsey" at them. Def was not me? Really? C'mon Podium.
The whole thing was so very unprofessional. They didn't go over anything on my resume. I honestly felt like they were looking to size me up and if I didn't fit their genre of character then I was out. Probs the worst interview I have ever had. The irony is this company is focused on helping SMB's communicate with their clients: "Podium is a customer interaction platform that utilizes text messaging to help businesses manage customer relationships and build an online reputation on a variety of websites. Podium's platform consolidates customer interactions and online reviews into a single dashboard to help users manage online review management." Well, they are obviously not too concerned with how they handle their interview process or the maturity it takes to actually conduct an official interview.
