Don’t quit your job search – even if they offer you the job.
After three in-person interviews, and a drawn-out process, I was OFFERED this position. They then strung me along…and took back the offer.
On the Friday they called, I told them it sounded good, and I asked some follow-up questions such as whether there would be potential for a bonus. This is an obvious question for a role that oversees managers and a sales force, and therefore functions like a Director of Sales. I can't say for certain, but you might want to be sure you're not accepting a position whose function they won't acknowledge.
…as multiple weeks and various excuses went by, finally they called me back. Weeks on the thread, and they rescind the offer.
Out of respect for their people, I’ll keep details sensitive to Proforma confidential. But this renege on the offer was theirs entirely and not due to any new or damaging information from me.
Keep your job search going. You and your family DO NOT want to get hit by the owners' motto:
‘Ready, SHOOT, aim.’ They admit it in a previous Glassdoor post. Obviously, it's ludicrous, and only serves the guy with the gun. Could be culture worth reconsidering. Some people might not get shot, and the owners will remain standing, but the character of the organization itself may be full of holes.
Luckily, I feel like I dodged a bullet.
Keep your job search going. Be sure you pick a company with respect and appreciation; ProForma showed me neither.
