      Interview

There are a total of 5 interviews. The first interview is probably the easiest where they are just trying to get an understanding of your basic coding skills. The next three interviews are more difficult and try to get a better understanding of your knowledge with data structures. The final interview is behavioral.

      Software Engineer Entry Level Interview

      18 Oct 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer

      Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Qualtrics in Oct 2015

      Interview

The interviewer was cordial. We made small talk for the first five or so minutes and then he jumped into a couple of token interview questions. He asked me about my internship experience and a time in which I overcame a challenge in that position. Easy enough. We then jumped to the technical portion of the interview. It was done on an online text editor in which we could both edit the text (code). He asked two coding questions. The first was pretty simple and the second one was of medium difficulty. I am not an incredibly talkative and warm person, so I struggled to include the interviewer in my thought processes. I flubbed the second question and didn't really explain to him what was giving me trouble. Don't do that. My advice is to treat him like a co-worker and bounce ideas off one another. I did not really come across as a good team member, so my candidacy ended there. Overall, he was a nice guy and the interview process was fair. We just didn't click.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Given a 2D array with 1's and 0's as values (think of it as a maze), determine if there is an exit. You traverse the maze by looking at a 1, and if there is a 1 to the right, left, or below, you can move to that next 1. You can only exit the maze by traversing 1's.
      Answer question

      Question 2

Find the intersection of two arrays
      Answer question
