      Senior Paid Search Manager Interview

      17 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ready Set Rocket in Jun 2022

      Interview

After applying for the senior paid search role I was contacted fairly quickly for an interview. The manager explained the background of the company and the interview process. I did mention my target salary and they stated wasn't an issue. But I beg the differ. Typically you got through least 4 interviews. However I went through the 3rd and did my follow up and per usual how companies talk a big game about getting back to you on the job role itself and you don't hear anything. I think the annoying part is your 2nd interview is with someone who has been with the company for like 2 weeks still doesn't have a lot of knowledge behind the scenes and also mentions how following up is important to him and yet he hasn't responded back. Big waste of time for both of us and has left a negative experience on it. I understand hiring is not easy for either side however, communication goes a long way and clearly you guys lack it. My advice to you is follow through on what you state and be realistic on it. Getting rejected is part of the search process and most of us would be fine getting an email stating we got rejected vs never ever sending anything.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your interview experience at RSR. We are committed to ensuring that our candidates have a positive experience throughout the process, so it is helpful to better understand when that does not happen. I wanted to provide you with a little background on our process that will hopefully address some of your concerns. For the role you applied to, we have a flexible timeline (taking applications and moving people through on a rolling basis). To make sure we do not count anyone out too soon, we hold off on making decisions until the hiring team has a chance to speak to everyone under consideration. We try to communicate to candidates that people who started the process a little earlier than others have a slightly longer wait time before they hear about next steps. This means if you do not hear from us right away it is because we are still evaluating you as a viable candidate for the role. That said, I do understand that when the process is delayed it can feel stressful, so apologies if you felt that our communication had lapsed. You should have received notice of your candidacy status within a couple days of this review date. If you did not, please contact me directly for more information. In terms of the interviewer you spoke to being new to the agency, that is because we are building out that particular team so it happens that the hiring manager for this role is new to the RSR. Though he is relatively new to our agency, he has extensive experience in the field and because the person in this Paid Media role would be reporting to him, we thought it was important that he was involved in the interview process, even with a little less context on the agency. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We are continuously evaluating and evolving our interview process to keep the candidate experience at the forefront, so feedback is always welcome. I do hope you keep us in mind in the future should you see another role you are interested in applying to. Sincerely, Head of Talent Ready Set Rocket
