I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Resmed
Interview
Initially, I had a screening interview with the internal recruiter, who asked me three software testing–related questions. After I answered all of them, she complimented me, saying I was the only candidate who managed to answer every question correctly.
Later, a second interview was scheduled with 3 members of the test automation team. I asked the recruiter whether the next interview would be technical, and she assured me it would not.
On the day of the second interview, the meeting link didn’t work, so I had to request a new one, which caused a 10-minute delay. The questions asked were entirely technical, contrary to what the recruiter had told me, such as the difference between HTTP response codes 401 and 403, or the file extensions used for iOS and Android applications.
One of the interviewers kept turning his camera on and off during the session and, when it was his turn to speak, he was noticeably arrogant and condescending. He said, “Since you claim to be an expert in Java, I’d like you to explain the concepts of object orientation.” The question was vague and lacked any context, and the rest of the questions followed the same pattern, giving me the clear impression that he hadn’t even read my CV.
For instance, my CV listed training courses involving Agentics, yet he referred to it as professional experience. I was close to ending the interview myself, as I don’t believe this is an acceptable way to treat anyone. Even if I had passed (which I already suspected I wouldn’t, given the recruiter’s misleading information about the interview format and the stress caused by the link issue), I would have declined the offer, as I felt completely disrespected.
