The recruiter reached out to me within 1 week of my resume submission, they were 15 minutes late but the call didn't take too long. It was very casual conversation, they liked my background and didn't go into too much detail about my experience. They moved forward to a phone screen with the hiring manager which I thought was a great call - went through my background and spoke to projects i've worked on. I sent thank you notes to both the hiring manager and recruiter after that call and it's been radio silence since.
I understand it's a competitive market and they're screening a handful of great candidates, but lets put the 'human' back in human resources and give candidates the courtesy note either way. Job hunting/interviewing is already tough in itself, please give candidates closure. It's a two-way streak.
