      Senior User Experience Researcher Interview

      19 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at SeatGeek (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

Applied online and got an email from the recruiter to schedule a 30 min phone call with her. She called me 5 minutes late and wrapped 5 mins early. I looked her up on LinkedIn and she is pretty high up in the chain of recruiters at the org, and was surprised by her apathy over the process, she was unpleasant to have a conversation with. She sounded like she was multitasking and she had few answers to my questions about the team and how they report through the organizational structure. Sounded like a cool opportunity. I talked with another recruiter at another company and had the same walkthrough of my background but she was definitely more of an active listener and this one was just painful. She asked questions about what I thought was good and bad about the website. From a cursory overview, it’s hard to give recommendations and I was definitely not prepared to answer those questions from my one usage of the product a few years ago. I do like their value score and brought that up, but wasn’t super prepared to evaluate the site with the recruiter in a 30 min convo.
