The hiring manager reach out to me on LinkedIn and asked me if I was interested in the position. Then we agreed to connect and have an initial phone screen with the hiring manager. This was more about my experience, resume, etc., and it was very straightforward.
We then moved on to the virtual onsite interview which had 4 rounds:
Technical Proficiency - Another Engineer manager took this interview, and it was more on the lines of my current and past projects, deep-diving into the architecture, etc. Nothing hard about this round Architectural round: Consider this more as a Data modeling and system design round.Manager Peer Round: This was a disaster of an interview as the interviewers got changed at the last minute, and they were not prepared with their questions. Questions were all based on my managerial style, and they corrected me for questions like, what would you look in the candidate while hiring? There isn't a right or wrong answer here, but you still are required to say exactly what they were expecting (because they corrected me for things like we also look for diversity in the team. Seriously?).Hiring Manager Interview: Wrap up with the Hiring Manager: This was to wrap up the interview with any last min questions.
The overall process was fast but very was not organized properly. I was working with a recruiter, and he was never available for me. I called him many times when I had a question and also dropped him multiple emails, but it looks like I was trying to reach out to a dead person.
Stay away if you have an option. Left a bad taste with their interview process. No feedback, no response from the hiring manager, neither from the recruiter.
Feedback to the Hiring Manager and HR team: It wouldn't hurt your busy life if you can spend 5mins with the candidate and give them the feedback which led to the rejection; it is a courtesy to respond to the voicemails/emails if they have dedicated to spend 5-6hrs of their busy time to deal with your mess.
