I went to an open day where I had an interview, the process was fairly straightforward. I was asked to go for a second interview and they never got back to me with a date or time and there was no way to contact them directly.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sky in Feb 2022

Interview

Applied for a part-time customer service position at Dunfermline in late December. The application was first an online assessment followed by recorded answers to set questions (early Jan). After this I had an online interview with an assessor and a team leader from Dunfermline this week (Feb). I was emailed a rejection two days later. As I can't get feedback then it's difficult to know where I went wrong and how to improve. This is a job I know I could do well at so the whole thing has been very disappointing.

Interview

Sky call it an “experience day”, which lasted almost three hours. First there was a group task where you discuss and rank three skills. After that you have a role play with the interviewer. In the role play, myself was the employee whilst the interviewer was a customer and I had to resolve wifi isssues. Finally after the role play I had a strenth based interview. After the whole “experience day”, they got back to me via email the next day.

Interview

Online test, then if completed would go into a video interview. If successful the next step is a Experience Day which is an assessment. First you are told to buddie up, and told to find out 1 thing in common with each other and present it to the class. Then you are told to select what's most like you got customer service. And this leads to a one to one interview where you describe why it's most like you. After this there is role play where you have to talk to the assersor pretending to be a customer. Once everyone is done you can ask some questions and then you are on your way. I was told the next day I was successful. But this was not a job offer yet as they need to check my references.

Interview Tips

Feel free to post any interview questions you might be asked and I’ll help you compose an effective response :)

Technical Solutions Engineer

1. What to do if you cannot provide your manager or other leaders as references from your previous workplace? 2. How to answer interview Qs about my previous workplace or manager? For the context! I worked for a workplace for 8-9 months. But, there were ethical issues from the side of leaders including my manager, and senior employees that made me quit my job. Also, many leaders & senior coworkers were either fired or quit their jobs a few months after I did. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone ever been called back for a job they were first rejected from only to be rejected again? Does this happen often?

VP of Sales/director of Business Development

During the first screening interview I have been asked at times about my job search status and if I am talking to others. While this is probably a question they have no right to ask, I wonder if there is a right or wrong answer. If I say I am interviewing with 2-3 companies, they may feel it is not worth the extra effort to continue the discussion. If I say I am not actively interviewing, it may be a negative sign. Any idea about where they are coming from? (WFH & free agent for a while)
