I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Slack in Jul 2021
Interview
Call with recruiter. Showed up to call late and was rushing through the process. Almost as if he had to tick checkbox and move on. Unfriendly and obnoxious.
Uninterested in "selling" Slack as a good place to work or did not know when asked specific questions about the team and company. Spoke to me (when he spoke) as if I was "lucky" to be speaking to him for the role at all.
Slack does appear to be a great place to work looking from the outside-in, in addition to reading all positive reviews but their recruitment team must do better. They are the first contact through the employee experience. My drive to join their rank dropped instantly and I was no longer willing to carry on with the recruitment process at Slack.
Please Slack recruitment: Do better. Really. Do not be complacent. It is understandable that you may have to outsource the service and if so, do set the Standard and baseline for all contractors. Anyway best of luck.
