I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stanley Black & Decker
Interview
Stage 1 - Your standard screen with the the head of account management pleasant chap - simple enough questions to answer. Told I would be put forward for the next stage. I would need to put together a brief presentation to present for 5 mins to the regional manager also. They would get back to me with details shortly - 2 weeks later I was still waiting - eventually (With some chasing) they finally confirmed the second stage.
Stage 2 - regional and area manager - presentation was fine as it was short on "What does Software/Security as a service mean to you and how will you ensure you hit the ground running in this role" - questions simple enough - both chaps had worked for the time company for quite some time. They said they would let me know shortly after the interview finished. Two weeks later and some chasing and a lot of "excuses" i finally caught up with the area manager. I was told they weren't making so many new hires and had actually hired someone who "was a specialist". Again a complete lie as a quick check on linkedin showed they had actually made a number of "non specialist" hires for multiple roles - the role i had applied for. The company does not seem to have direction and they aren't keen to hire people who had business acumen and will help develop the business plus there is an element of dishonesty - I would probably keep a wide berth of a company if they don't treat you correctly prior to even hiring!

Question 1
Presentation questions "What does Software/Security as a service mean to you and how will you ensure you hit the ground running in this role"
It was a long interview (over an hour) with two people. One of the interviewers was late and didn’t seem to take it seriously. No follow up after the interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Stanley Black & Decker (Denver, CO)
Interview
Worst hiring process I've ever experienced. After 2 months of interviews I was offered employment but with the offer a background check and drug test were required, totally fine. I was told that if my background hasn't prevented me from other employment that I should be fine even after I expressed that I did have a record from 6 YEARS AGO. Still was led to believe I was an ideal candidate and they gave me a start date. THE DAY BEFORE I was set to start after reaching out myself I was told that legal was still reviewing my background and they did not have a start date for me anymore, ok.. 2 days after that I receive a email asking me to sign a rescind of their employment offer stating that I did not pass the background check. Not why I didn't, I answered every question they had regarding my background just that it wasn't happening now. I replied that I would not sign it it without reason. I had to email them multiple times asking why and finally heard back after a week of trying. They led me to believe I had the job so in turn I turned down other offers I had received. Their reasoning was because I had been to jail while I was on probation 6 YEARS ago, no offenses since then and the offenses were not felonies. I would not recommend this company if you have anything from your past on your record. 3 months wasted.
