      Sales Associate Interview

      25 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Perth, Western Australia
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Stryker (Perth, Western Australia) in Jan 2022

      Interview

Multi step process, I went through 6 steps. 1. Call to confirm you're suitable to move forward 2. Interview with Talent Acquisition Manager 3. Interview with Regional & TM - Endo 4. Gallup 5. Interview with National Sales & Senior HR - Endo 6. Interview with Senior Director & Regional - Trauma 1. Just a quick 15 min audit to see if I was suitable. 2. A more in-depth look at my work experience and my personality. 3. Interview with Regional and TM was more chat like in how it ran and less formal interview. There was 10 questions they were working through, mostly behavioural. Well conducted and a nice intro to senior staff and how welcoming they were. 4. Gallup test - just be yourself. At best, spend time recalling any scenarios in your work career prior. Be honest. 5. Interview with HR Senior and National Sales Manager. More behavioural questions, and more targeted towards my sales history more so than business acumen and leadership. 6. I was moved over to another unit for interview as apparently this unit suited me more. Senior Director and Regional both very personable and strategic with questioning and agenda to assess my personality against the position but also the team and customers. Clearly highly intelligent and methodical in their approach. They were really testing my approach to adaptability in conversation. Overall: I didn't get hired, but as identified through Gallup and acknowledged by a few senior personnel that I can be a top performer. Be yourself in the interview and try not to fake it as Stryker know what they are looking for. Senior staff are clearly very experienced and every interviewer was extremely polite and welcoming. I found the senior personnel to be very laid back and each team showed congeniality and team support for each other. There is method to their questions so be prepared as best you can for all behavioural questions. Remember they are sales people at the end of the day and have 45 mins to figure you out, which they may or may not get right, they can only work off what you present. Relax as much as you can.. I found the experience to be fulfilling and although unsuccessful, I did learn a lot about myself and areas I can work on to land ideal jobs. I found the process to be educational in some ways with regards to how I can better my own approach to recruitment. Talent Acquisition Manager was a legend, by my side the whole time and very supportive after each step. Incredible company. Hire the best of the best - so be the best you can be and hope for the ideal outcome. They want confidence in your adaptability skills, no real interest in moulding or guiding anyone. Good Luck!

      Interview

There are five to six stages! First a recruiter, then hiring manager, then personality test, then your actual boss, then a group Interview. The entire process takes about 1.5 to 2 weeks. Some people have to do a case study as well.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Stryker

      Interview

Very casual phone calls and coffee chats. The gallup is hard and questions can be ambiguous so talk to a rep beforehand and ask them about their experience and tips they have. For the most part it has been phone calls to understand who you are but make sure to sell yourself everytime.

      Interview

The interview process has been great so far…my first one was a phone screening with their hiring manager. It was basic questions. Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to do medical sales who I’ve networked with etc. I then got moved on to an interview with their regional manager. The questions were tell me about yourself. What makes me different and then ended with behavioral questions that I focus using the star method to answer. I got moved onto the next round and now I’m waiting for an interview with the regional manager again, as well as other team members that I would be supporting. So far the interview process has been amazing and everyone I’ve met so far is great. I think as long as you have stories that you can tell about yourself as far as teamwork dealing with difficult situations from your past experience and how I think strategically is really important.
