      Human Resources Director Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Stryker in Sept 2021

      Interview

After multiple interviews and even an external interview with Gallup, the company just ghosted me without any resolution. 25 days since the last contact. Being in HR, this is a terrible candidate experience. At a minimum, feedback should have been given around not moving forward in the process.

      Question 1

Interview was very role specific but there was an external interview with Gallup.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stryker in Feb 2011

      Interview

Gallup is an important part of their interviewing process, however of late the company seems to be abusing it or may be unclear on how to handle it. The company probably saw some merit in this a few years ago when they started but with time this appears to have lost its purpose and is done just as a part of their global mandate. I was contacted by a search partner for the above mentioned position, but he set a call to do a mock gallup interview (he even advised me to visit the site and read up on possible questions - tcompletely defeats the intent with Gallup was concieved) The company apparently takes great pride in being percieved as an aggressive work place and it was easy for me to fake responses. The search partner polished some of my answers and set me up for the gallup interview. I got a call as per the schedule(from Singapore) which lasted for about 2 hours. Most of the questions were a repeat from the mock telecall and my responses were practised. A few days later I was told by the recruiter that I cleared the gallup and my candidature will progress to the next level. I was not surprised but I realized this was not the kind of workplace I could see myself in - a bunch of overaggressive employees is not my idea of ideal workplace. The search partner however insisted on my completing the next steps since I cleared Gallup. I decided to go along. After a bit of to and fro the telephonic interview with the India MD who was in the US for work was fixed. Surprise Surprise....it appeared to me that they probably did not bother to go thru my profile even once before putting me up for Gallup...he asked some basic questions...realized I did not have too much of experience in handling sales force .....I realized he was not too keen on knowing much beyond basics...and the call was over in 15 minutes. I think they should have started with this basic call and filtered candidates befor subjecting them to Gallup...I felt my time was wasted in the whole process.Such senior mandates must be handled with a more professional approach than in a frivulous manner....or may be the search partner was not clear on what the company really wanted to start with. Overall pathetic experience !
