I applied for a Senior Designer position and received a personal email from the Recruiter inviting me to interview with the Design Lead. I spent time preparing and sent over my availability immediately.
However, shortly after, I received an automated rejection email from their system. When I asked for clarification, HR admitted it was an 'internal oversight' and that they had already filled the position but sent the interview invite 'in error'.
Sending an interview invitation to a candidate AFTER the role is filled shows a complete lack of respect for candidates' time and effort. Extremely unprofessional workflow
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sunco Lighting (Santa Clarita, CA) in Jan 2025
Interview
Unprofessional and rude interview experience. Phone interview went fine, she said that I would have a follow-up 45-minute interview with the Product team. Day-of-interview, I spent legitimately 5 minutes with the Product team. (I was told to prepare a 30-40 minute in-depth interview about my skillset.) They did not introduce themselves, asked basic questions, and got irritated when I tried to introduce myself. They were rude, and did not even ask about my background in detail. I sent an email to the recruiter about the experience, and had no response. They send job postings for this exact same position on LinkedIn all the time, consistently for the past 6 months (October 2024 - Present). They are most likely ghost jobs. I caution anyone to not interview with them and to please avoid. They are a waste of your time.

Interview
Initial phone screening with HR, then an in-person interview. Interviewer was the director of the team and they primarily ask you questions about projects on your resume and have you solve 1 or 2 simple engineering problems.
