      Program Director Interview

      3 Jun 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TechBlocks in Apr 2024

      Interview

I observed red flags all throughout the interview process. After the initial screening with the recruiter, I got contacted within 10 mins to speak to the CEO with an hour's heads up in which I was told the role requires round the clock commitment, meaning I will be contacted any time of the day and will have to drop everything and jump in to issue resolution. Also, all interviews conducted were scheduled at very short notice with with very little heads up and allotted time was never adhered to by the interviewer. In fact in a panel conversation, one panelist did not get to ask any questions during a 1 hour interview session and I was asked to have a follow up session. When I mentioned at the start of the follow up discussion that I have time only for the allowed slot and have a hard stop at the end of it as I have to go for a school pick up, the HR head then asked me how I will manage when I start the job. Conversations with senior management, CEO, CIO, and HR/Ops head showcased work-life balance was not a priority and even after committing at first instance that I am fine with this being a hybrid role and will be in office 3 days a week, they went on a monologue on this topic, which I feel showcases the organizational maturity as they are hiring for a Director-level role and is not needed. CIO interviewed me twice, with the first conversation being just a monologue as he was not interested in hearing about my skills and experiences aligned to this role. Overall, I felt it was a very negative experience and was deep down wishing for them to not make an offer. In my conversation with the HR head, while she was providing an overview of the organization, she even unethically bragged that they have done a GPS project for a large luxury automaker in the middle east and laughingly said they could track all the rich folks in that region, which I felt was very unprofessional.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Project based scenario questions around capacity planning, issue resolution and e-commerce technical questions. In few other rounds I was asked if I would not job hop, but at the same time was also told that I will get below market salary.
