I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Turner Construction (Oklahoma City, OK) in Oct 2015
Interview
I first met members of the Turner team at a college recruiting fair. They seemed very approachable and were easy-going. The fair was on the Thursday afternoon and after leaving my resume I received a call 2 business days later on the Monday. During the call I was asked if I would like to come in for an interview to discuss what type of experience I had and what I would like to gain from an internship experience. We organized to meet Friday that week. The whole process was quite straight forward and simple.
The interview itself was one-on-one and very relaxed. It felt more like a catch-up than an interview. I didn't feel under pressure or rushed to get through interview style questions. The interviewer shared some of his experiences and about how he did when he first interviewed with Turner.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time where you were faced with a challenging situation and how did you deal with it.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Turner Construction in Nov 2021
Interview
They made me do a recorded interview which felt really awkward and impersonal. Also hr never reached out or responded. Overall just not a great experience, met the engineer at a career fair and got caught up because of HR.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turner Construction
Interview
Total process took over 1 month, applied online, in person interview with the team. They promised to get back to me at a certain time, but I had to follow up numerous times. They opted for a candidate who was a better fit racially and culturally for the company, not necessarily with the most experience though, I know cause they mistaked the resume order and had the other candidates up during my interview. They hired for Culture fit > experience.
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Turner Construction in Dec 2018
Interview
I was introduced to Turner Construction at a career fair provided by my college and gave them my resume after our quick conversation. About two weeks later they emailed me an invitation to attend a first interview. Was your typical one-on-one interview with a younger gentleman who was fairly new (3-4 years) with the company. Resume probing, experience and vision all were asked of me. The next day I was emailed an invitation to attend a second interview at the district office. It was myself and three other interviewers. We had to interview with four seasoned employees in a one-on-one setting, 45 minute each; all were a mix of questions and conversation setting. Very relaxed experience. Be knowledgeable, college education, common sense, and they like you.
