I interviewed at UC San Diego (San Diego, CA)

      Interview

I arrived at the University of San Diego a bit early for my interview. The campus was beautiful, and it helped calm my nerves. When I got to the admissions office, the receptionist checked me in, and I waited with a few other students. My interviewer, Mr. Williams, greeted me right on time. He was friendly and made me feel comfortable as we walked to his office. The interview started with some basic questions about why I was interested in the University of San Diego and what I wanted to study. Mr. Williams asked about my academic background and any leadership experiences I had. He seemed genuinely interested in my answers, which made the conversation flow smoothly. We also talked about how I might contribute to the campus community. At the end of the interview, he asked if I had any questions. I asked about study abroad programs and research opportunities, and he gave me some useful information. The interview ended with Mr. Williams thanking me for coming, and I left feeling positive about the experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself. Why did you choose to apply to the University of San Diego? What are your academic interests or intended major? Can you describe a challenging situation you've faced, and how you handled it? Tell me about a leadership experience you've had. How do you see yourself contributing to our campus community? What are your long-term career goals? What do you do in your free time?

Phone and then zoom interview. The interview was average and pleasant. First there was an HR phone call, then a call with the supevisor, then a zoom interview with a couple of employees. The last round of interview is with the manager themselves.

Got an interview from a biomechanics lab. It was mainly focused on their research topics and gauging if it fits my background. I only shared my background for 15 minutes, and that was enough for them to make decisions.
