      Retail Sales Assistant Interview

      18 Mar 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Melbourne
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uniqlo (Melbourne) in Mar 2017

      Interview

When it's time for the interview, you hand in your CV and an application form that you are required to fill out before the interview date, and they take it and write your name along with a table number. For example; I was number 1, and everyone else who was on table number 1 was my group for the group interview. For me, they had people who were a part of the HR for Uniqlo in Victoria, and they would go around with a board that had all the applicants names and write notes on your behaviour ( Basically to see what kind of person you are). We went through a power point about 'Uniqlo' and what kind of company it is, as well as brands within the store. Throughout the powerpoint, they ask you questions like " What are some things Uniqlo are known for?" etc... . I'd say answering these questions would be a good opportunity for you to shine, since I said early they write notes on you, so if you show that you're knowledgeable. that's already a good starting point for you ( However don't feel obligated to answer the questions. I personally didn't answer, and was able to still get the job offer.) You then watch a video together and after the video, each table were given a question. Then as a group you are then required to answer it, and present as a group. *Note* there's no specific way to present your question, as some groups made it a little bit entertaining, some kept it entirely professional, so do you. ( Obviously don't just joke around the whole time. keep it to a professional level) After that's done. Since I applied for the 'Full-time position' we were required to do a 1:1 interview. everyone goes outside and just waits to be called in. ( Personally because of the casual and relaxing nature of the group interview, I was completely calm about it, and wasn't nervous.) After the solo interview you are free to go! And that was the interview process for me!

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Uniqlo (London, England) in May 2025

      Interview

Very easy and standard retail interview. First step is a short 5 minute phone call just confirming your availability, right to work and location. Second stage is a group interview where you are all asked different situational questions. Make sure you use STAR method. A few questions might not need STAR, for example 'what do you like to do for fun?' They will 100% ask you what do you know/like about Uniqlo and why do you want to work there so be prepared for that. Group interviews might seem off putting but it honestly made the interview easier for me because I got to hear other peoples answers and then used that to better my own. Only three of us candidates were in the interview + two interviewers, so don't expect a massive group. 1st interview was on a Monday, 2nd was on Wednesday and then I got an offer on Friday, so they are very quick with the process.
