    Interview

Lots of questions to keep you thinking and make sure your management material. The questions give you no perspective to go off of, so they actually, in part, show your creativity in which your describing a past experience or making something up as you go. All questions must have a self example, so I would suggest either thinking of each type of management question they might have and trying to remember an example or being creative. Either way you want to have them set in mind so your not caught off guard.

Answering 5 questions that are quite the same just repeated in a different way. 2, if available, Managers asking the repetitive questions for the 1st sitting. You are then scored by the interviewers and you wait out of the office until they decide yes or nay! It then goes to a 2nd sitting with the same basic questions done by an Assistant Manager, and a Dept Manager. The questions are then again scored and the same task of leaving office and being called back in if hired. If you go forward to the 3rd interview, you talk to the store Manager or other Assistant, given a yes or no and then do drug testing.

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Reno, NV (US)) in January 2011.

    Interview

I first applied online for the job, and had two very easy interviews back to back, to inititally get the job. After working for walmart for a little over a year, i knew i wanted to go higher up in the company. The day i had my interview for department manager i had no idea that i was going to have it and was completely umprepared. I haven't had any experience as a supervisor before and I thought that's what all the questions seemed to refer as, (how were you a boss this way, and how did you lead that way) i ended up not getting the position and i figured it was because of my poor interview. Now i'm going for department manager again and this time they gave me a week heads up!
