I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walmart (Rochester, MN) in May 2015
Interview
One of the management members just asked me some basic questions about myself and how I would do working in retail. He explained the wage and benefits of working to me. I even got to go to the front end to test out a register to see what it was like.

Question 1
What do you do if your register is having an issue?
Pretty easy. A lot of information up front that's hard to retain but everything you need to find is online. Pretty much always ends with an offer. Just be cool.
Online application and skill assessment, followed by an in person interview with a team lead. Assessment was a little vaguely worded at times, but it all seems like common sense if you've worked customer facing roles before.
Efficient interview process. Quick and easy interview. Hiring manager was approachable and easy to talk to. I was asked about my experience to determine if I would be a good fit.
