The Division Manager played down the responsibilities of the position and conveyed a widespread distrust of the corporate headquarters. He stated that corporate did not have the division's back and was more or a hindrance than a help. He also proceeded to refer to the personnel/HR department in ways that would lead someone to believe that all they did was staffing. That dept worked on every facet of HR with the exception of printing paychecks (Accounting/Payroll did that).
