A friend's recommendation led to an initial interview with the engineering manager. The conversation was productive, allowing me to inquire about the role requirements, work environment, and gain insights into the manager's perspective. Subsequently, I received a take-home project assignment. However, the project proved to be excessively time-consuming and tedious. While I appreciate the importance of front-end engineers possessing back-end knowledge, requiring candidates to learn an entirely new framework solely for a take-home assignment seems unreasonable and overly demanding.
