Interview
Spoke with a recruiter from Yale who told me I was going to be interviewed by the end of the week we prepped for it and everything... It never happened.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Yale University (New Haven, CT) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview started out as a typical interview, the interviewer told me about the job, they asked some questions, I asked some questions. Toward the conclusion of the interview the interviewer asked me to tell him something about myself I didn’t want him to know. I told him I was in my 50s and explained the challenges of getting hired once you are in your 50s and how this problem has existed in the US for the last half century. Our interview ran late and the next person being interviewed for this job joined the zoom call and I can see someone who was clearly half my age. The interviewer didn’t have enough sense to leave a buffer between interviews. This was the most unprofessional interview I have had to date. I was also informed by an insider that I had no chance of being hired as Yale University is a bastion of bigotry disguised as tolerance and a white male in his 50s is not eligible for hire.
