- Detail During my recent job, I would test various items of technology, in order to do this correctly and competently I had to search the relevant information in order to understand products better, this benefit myself as it ended with me testing meticulously, and with no mistakes. - Make Right An angry customer had purchased a phone the day before, and returned explaining the phone did not work, in order to make the customer happy, I maintained composure, calmed down customer, explained process, booked phone into test and proceeded to enter the shop floor and show them which phones they could exchange for. After they had chosen phone, I ran it through the system finalising the exchange and they thanked me for my help and upmost patience. Older customer needed simple phone. - Ask Customer wanted phone specification comparisons which I did not have the specific knowledge for, so I asked my colleague if he had any information to share with the customer, whilst I searched wrote down the information she needed. I then gave her the notes and we discussed further what the specifications meant, which resulted in her feeling confident enough to purchase a mobile and thanking me for the thorough research I did. - Zest Whenever a customer comes into the store, I always approach them first with a smile and ask how their day is, and if they need any help. It usually turned into conversations, and them telling me about themselves and their days. I'd always remember small details they told me, so that if they came back into the store, I could easily pick up where we'd left off. Colleagues would tell me customers would come in on my days off looking for me, which warmed my heart. - Exceed A disabled customer and their mother, whose native language was not English were looking to purchase a laptop. In order to help our communication, I used mobile phone translation. I demoed each of the laptops we had in stock which fit their budget and wrote down the specifications, advantages and disadvantages of each, to help them choose the most suitable one. Once they had purchased their chosen laptop, I created an online Steam (video game client) account for them and showed them how to purchase and install video games when they got home. The mother was so delighted with my service, she offered me a £10 tip which I refused due to company policy. The happiness and smiles which radiated from them after I had helped them, filled my heart and only encouraged me more to go above and beyond for people.
I would ask customers about their interests, and if I could relate it to what they were purchasing/ the clothes they were wearing, I always would. When my colleagues had low spirits at work, I would play uplifting music and have them dance with me.
A virtual function is a member function that you expect to be redefined in derived classes. When you refer to a derived class object using a pointer or a reference to the base class, you can call a virtual function for that object and execute the derived class's version of the function.
