The question has no relevance to digital learning design, development or implementation or even leading it. I mentioned this is down to organisational strategy and typically part of L& D falling within HR function and a digital learning lead would lead the training interventions based on organisational goals of succession planning. The HR person mentioned this is one of the questions by the Hiring manager and as I've not done succession planning, she won't proceed with further questions. Someone needs to educate the Hiring Manager on the difference between L & D function in HR and the scope of Digital Learning designer or lead! I feel it was just a ruse to eliminate candidates with higher salary expectations. The screening was over in 2 minutes and I immediately received a rejection email following the call. Beware of companies that do not list salary range in adverts. They are just wasting your time.
